Staying in is the new going out!

Staying in is the new going out!

So you’ve just had a baby - congratulations! The chances are you are pretty damn tired and broken. Your body is trying to repair itself and your baby is trying to adjust to this new world that they’ve been thrown in to. The nights seem so long and the days are all a blur this time right here, it’s magical. It all feels like such a whirlwind of emotions but it also goes so fast and before you know it, your tiny little baby who you can’t ever imagine being out of your arms will be charging around the house, bossing you around and causing mass destruction.

These baby times are precious and when you feel tired, sore but absolutely besotted with this new life you’ve created - this is the most perfect time to capture the magical (and sometimes crazy) bubble you’re in. Now, I don’t expect you to pack half of your house and the kitchen sink up in a changing bag to bring yourselves all to me but instead I come to you. Your home, your sanctuary - where you and your baby feel relaxed and safe. I won’t force you into lots of unnatural poses but I’ll guide you to make the most of your home and give you beautiful memories of this precious time.

You don’t need to have a show home - your house is perfect however it looks because this is the place you’ve grown your baby on the inside and where it will flourish on the outside. You may redecorate, you may move home and when you look back on these images you’ll get that beautiful flutter in your tummy of the memories when your darling baby was tiny and of the home you adored.

I’m happy to travel anywhere so if you’d like an at home session - just pop me a message and I’ll get right back to you.

Fi and Pete on the beach!

Here’s another engagement session with these absolute beauties; Fi and Pete! They’re both so full of energy and happiness and they just radiate fun. We met at Exmouth to go on a little adventure, running, splashing and chatting all about life and weddings!
The fact that it was a little cloudy just made for the best light. I do love a cloudy day on the beach., you get such a lovely glow on the sea and gorgeous reflections.

I really do adore working with couples, to be able to capture love in such a pure form is truly something special. ❤

Matt and Mel's Highbullen Wedding

These two....wow!! What a wedding! When you scroll down, you'll be able to see from the photos on the day that Matt and Mel's wedding at Highbullen was every bit as beautiful as the both of them. You could literally feel the love oozing from everyone there and the laughter was non stop. It's clear that these two have made a big impact on many people, none so more than they have on each other.

From an idyllic church wedding with the best lavender confetti throws yet to the wedding party tearing up the dance floor this was definitely a day to remember!

I'll leave the little details of the day here; Mel's make-up artist was the fab Timmone Blatchford, Meg Chalmers was on hair. The Church were Matt and Mel tied the knot was St Peters, Tiverton and the reception venue was High Bullen Hotel.

Holly and Aaron wed!

A few weeks ago, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Holly and Aaron's beautiful wedding. Holly wins the award for the world's calmest bride - literally nothing fazed her!
They married officially in the gorgeous little church in the village of Sampford Peverell and we then went on to Calverleigh Village Hall which they transformed with such pretty, delicate decorations with the ultimate masterpiece being a Krispy Kreme donut wedding cake - yes that's right!!
A beautiful, super relaxed and amazingly well planned day made for such a beautiful wedding. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Cottrell!!

Mel and Matt's Couple Session

It was just so lovely meeting up with Matt and Mel at their very own little piece of paradise. Not only are they lucky enough to own this little area where they have camping trips, barbeques and chilled out sunny days but it's also the special place where Matt proposed (and Mel said yes!)
Two wonderful, in love and laid back people - their wedding will most definitely be something amazing.

Tom and Jess at the family home

Just a few weeks ago, I met with the lovely Tom and Jess. Although no longer living in the area, they will be Wed in a Tiverton Church followed by a good ol' knees up in a marquee at Tom's family home. We felt it was only right that we ventured around the homes' beautiful surroundings for their super fun engagement session! We found some gorgeous little untouched areas of nature - so untouched and natural that I ended up smelling very strongly of wild garlic!

Engagement at Haldon Forest

Ahhhh, these two are just the most wonderful souls, so happy and at ease with one another. Josie and Chris have been together for years after first meeting at school and are now planning a super wedding! Josie has to be one of the most passionate people I've ever met when it comes to animals - Chris also works at a zoo so I can well imagine their big day might involve some furry friends!

For this session we met at Haldon Forest, Exeter. If you've never been you really should go. It's just stunning, especially in the evening with the gold tinged sunlight.

Here is just a small selection from an amazingly fun time:

Devon Engagement Session

This is the engagement session of the wonderful Daisy and Tim. We met at Knightshayes where we had a long chat about their amazing wedding which will be taking place at Tracey Estate, Honiton. They have so many awesome, beautiful plans - I am beyond excited to be photographing their day! After our catch up, we walked around the grounds to get some photos of the two of them. It had been lovely and sunny early on but by the time we had got out to the grounds the wind picked up and the sky turned grey - making for some moody atmospheric photos with the odd peaking of sunshine from behind the clouds!

It was lovely catching up with you both for your engagement photos Daisy and Tim - I truly can't wait to photograph your wedding.

Ross and Rose at Muddifords Court

Ross and Rose at Muddifords Court

This story started when I met Rose back in November 2015 over a coffee at Costa! We chatted all about their wedding, dresses, bridesmaids and all the details of the day. I knew that this day would be something special but couldn’t have been prepared for how wonderfully detailed and planned every last little thing was – along with possibly the coolest, calmest Bride and Groom ever!

It was plainly obvious throughout the day how much everyone loves this couple, the day was filled with so much pride and happiness and most of all fun.  Here are just a selection of some of this wonderful day.

Venue: Muddifords Court
Cake: Claire Makes Cakes
Make-up: Laura Le Page Bridal
Wedding Cars:  Land Rover
Dress: Maggie Sottero
Groom suit: Ted Baker
Groom party: Kenneth Cole
Photographic Assistant: Aga Kowalska

Jenny and Adrian at Powderham Castle

Jenny and Adrian at Powderham Castle

This is the wedding of the wonderful Jenny and Adrian. So full of love and happiness for each other, this wedding was just so beautiful. They tied the knot at the church of the village where Jenny grew up and her parents still live, going on to the glorious and grand Powderham Castle with a marquee in their grounds.

This wedding definitely needs little words, the photos speak for themselves.
